Anyone out there affected by the hurricane? I hope all you and your
animals stayed safe.

We had a gas "crisis" here in the SE, with prices running up to $5/gal.
It made the trip down to the Heart of Dixie Llama Show more expensive
than planned. Coming home, we encountered rain from the remnants of
Ike, but thankfully had no significant problems.

Our farm got hit by a tornado Sunday morning.
We're ok, animals are ok and house is ok.
Other then that, it's a mess. Trees and fences down everywhere.

Yike! I bet you were hoping to have left that threat behind in
Nebraska. Glad to hear that no one was hurt, but still, who needs all
that extra cleanup work?

I sure didn't expect a huricane to come this far north and get us.
But the goats are loving all the downed oak trees. They think thats
pretty good eats and play toys. I'm not all that amused by it myself
as I keep getting stung by ground bees while out moving trees and
fixing fences. And I'm allergic to the little bastards.
