Post by David V.I got 4 inches of WET snow last night. I lost 3 trees and
numerous limbs. The power went out for about 12 hours too. The
trees that came down fell over. They didn't break, the roots gave
way.
At least the fences are all up and the llamas in their nice dry
shelter.

Sorry but you're not going to get much sympathy from me over a little
bit
of snow this time. We had a major ice storm followed up by snow a
few
weeks ago. We were without power for a week, some folks are still
without
power and may not have it for a few more weeks.
On top of no power, we have trees, limbs and fences down all over the
farm.
Much more damage then the tornado that hit us last fall. Had a tree
fall on
our ford ranger and wells cargo trailer. Ranger just has a broken
window, trailer
is missing about 1/2 the roof.
1 pasture has a 50 yard by 50 yard area where all the trees just
collapsed. It's
a real mess.
We had to spend a couple days just clearing trees off our side roads
so the
work crews could get thru. I cut up what I could there and just
pushed the
rest off to the side of the road with the tractor. I think that was 6
large oak
trees that fell on the roads.
It took us 2 full days just to clear all the trees and branches off
the driveway.
I figure it will take us 2-3 months to get all the damage taken care
of and cleaned
up.
But I figure we got lucky as the house wasn't really damaged much and
all our
critters survived and also that we were only without power for the
week. I was
sure we would be without it quite a bit longer.
